Step 10. The resources

Now, before to write the requirements and specifications, we must identify all the resources: financial, technical and human as well.

Ientify each existing resource, in terms of financing, of human input and in terms of knowledge / expertise. Then, identity each missing resource, considering the same components. This way you may bring useful information for the evaluation of the costs.

Step 11. The solutions

Carefully consider the various solutions: in-house, external consulting, out sourcing and the corresponding available resources and financing. Your comparison criteria must suit your needs, goals, objectives and resources.

Built up a full set of comparison criteria from your main goals and compare the benefits of each solutions focusing on your own needs.

Step 12. Your time schedule

Is your time schedule realistic? It is frequently preferable to implement a step by step solution. It may greately improve the management of your resources.

Carefully consider your time schedule and ensure that it is relevant to each step of the work to achieve.

Step 13. The technical specifications

Yet you gathered the necessary information and made the business decisions, you are in a position to write down the technical specifications or hire a consultant to do it you.

Business first. The technical specifications must fit your business needs and resources.

Step 14. The choices

At this stage, you must be in a position to efficiently chose between technical solutions and providers.

Choose the solutions that fit well with your specifications. If your resources are not sufficient to cover all the project, including the promotion and the follow up, it would be much better to lower the global size of the project than removing parts of the resources already allocated.

Step 15. Supporting

As an evidence, the project must be the result of a defined business strategy. In order to get the most of your eBusiness project, it is a good strategy at this stage to put in perspective the eBusiness project with the marketing strategy.

Choose the ways and means that you will develop to support the eBusiness project. At each step, and after its conclusion of your project, your must support the project; this way you may get the most of your eBusiness solution in line with your business strategy.

Step 16. Content development

Content development and content usability analysis is a full development in itself. Such development must not interfere with the application development. Content development is of your own responsibility. Keep in mind that no provider knows your business better than you.

Develop your content as a separate taks. Even if you need to outsource this part of the work, consider the needs and expectations of the targeted visitors and keep building the content for them.

Step 17. application development

The input of the former steps is necessary for a successful application development.

Application development must not come first. The application development must get the input of the content and service development. If you need to shorten the project duration, then a very detailed content forecast may enable the set up of the various use cases and scenarios.

Step 18. Testing

A successful implementation requires a lot of testing, in particular usability testing. Don't forget the resources needed for testing!

Test, test again.

For the people involved, a detailed and explicit information is a must. People that will have to manage the eBusiness chain must be correctly trained. A fine management means a good service. Remember that the eBusiness chain relies on the service provision.

Step 20. The promotion

Support actions means advertising. The targets are the future visitors, the providers, the partners, the employees. The Internet promotion will begin as soon as the application is available . But the marketing begins before the website. It must be carefully prepared and executed.

Hire a consultant if you want to to outsource it, or hire a consultant who will train your employees to do it in-house, and who will manage the follow up.
