What to do in case of emergency
Whatever your connection speed or your modem, connecting your computer to the Internet network opens the door to various intrusions. The same applies for a server making available for "public" users the pages of any Web site.
If you are in an emergency, read our Recommendations first, choosing what applies to your case; as needed, print it, then go to our Survival Kit section, download and / or order the tools, services and guides that are immediately useful for you; install it as soon as you can. You will have plenty of time to go deeper into the subject afterwards.
If you have none of these tools at the moment, install first the firewall, then the antivirus. Do NOT install more than one antivirus or more than one firewall.

Why this column?
Why this column? Initially, our Internet security portal was available internally for our clients and partners. We decided to launch our Internet security column for online public use.
i.S.k.i.v. Internet Security information is available both in English and in French. It is possible to switch to the alternative language from each page. External sources are partly in English, partly in French and some are multilingual.
Our security column is mainly dedicated to individual users - workstation's users, laptop and desktop computers, small networks, to Webmasters and to developers whose speciality is not security. Although a part of our resources may be usable for network safety concerns, network issues are out of the field of this section.
