Ltd Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations protect your workstations and your
network from viruses, spyware, malware, phishing and spam and pushes protection beyond the office
network to reach remote and laptop users. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstation is an
integrated solution that enables a versatile protection from all types of contemporary cyber
threats. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstation permanently scans all files and data
streams, both incoming and outgoing, for harmful content. The Internet traffic, network
communication and email are scanned. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstation detects and
disinfects viruses, spyware and other malware. The main Microsoft platforms, including x64 versions, are supported.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstation offers an integrated protection with many
interesting functions: Proactive technologies: What does this means ? This means that the sorfware
components act to protect from threats that have not yet been catalogued in
signature databases. This means that all processes that are launched in the system are analyzed to
warn the users of possible threats. That the file systems are scanned for malicious
content, when they are launched, created or changed. And that an added security
permits to roll back unwanted changes and to restore damaged data. Secure email: As mail traffic is scanned at the level of the data transfer
protocol - POP3, IMAP, MAPI, NNTP for incoming traffic and SMTP for outgoing traffic - the mail has
not reached the computer at scan time. The application supports all the main mail programs. SSL
connections may be scanned as well. Online Safety: The SafeStream application enables the program to scan
HTTP traffic in real time. In order to preserve the performance, it uses a signature
database that includes only the most dangerous threats to Internet users at the time of
scanning. A firewall protecting from hacker attacks: This new generation firewall uses
jointly IDS and IPS systems and predefined rules for more than 250 of the most commonly used
applications. Thus, the firewall enables a high level network safety for any type of
network, including WiFi networks. Protecting from phishing and spam attacks: Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows
Workstation is able to identify and disable the links to phishing sites at browser level
and rebuff emails from phishers. The filtration system is based on formal attributes and a
self-training Bayes algorithm that ensures a high-quality spam prevention. Kaspersky achieves an excellent redistribution of the resources to make
available the most resources for the user's tasks. All the protection settings may be
adapted at user demand. Intelligent technologies: Kaspersky labs explains that "during periods of
increased user activity, the antivirus solution switches to background mode to reduce its demand on
system resources, so that they can be used by more high-priority applications. The first time
on-demand scanning is launched all objects are automatically scanned. However, for subsequent scans
iSwift and iChecker technologies limit scanning to new and modified files only. Resource
management. " Compact updates: This is a great improvement as smaller updates on average are
only several tens of kilobytes in size! Administration Centralized administration. Installing the solution on workstations, configuring
protection parameters, managing updates to signature databases and program modules and responding
effectively to potentially threatening events all these as well as other administrative tasks can
be carried out centrally and remotely using Kaspersky Administration Kit 6.0. Choice of installation methods. Any method for centralized software installation can be
used, as long as it supports distributives in the MSI format (including via Active Directory). Configuration options. The administrator can use the security policies and tasks in the
program to configure protection parameters for groups of workstations or for individual
workstations, receive notifications of events on the network, install license keys, etc. Notifications. The system administrator receives notifications of certain types of events
(such as the detection of a virus). Duplicate copies of notifications can be sent via email and
NetSend. Graphic reports. Reports provide information about the status of antivirus protection and
the programs operation over specific time periods. There are different types of reports,
which can be customized to contain the required level of detail. Automatic updating. Updates to antivirus databases and program modules are available on
demand or automatically according to a schedule. Updates can either be downloaded directly from
Kaspersky Lab servers on the Internet or from local servers on the network. System requirements | Hardware Requirements | - 50 MB available HDD space
