Bid Authority Role
(re User who has permissions to digitally sign and submit bids for an

Building
a collection of one or more rooms.
Business Project or Opportunity
an opportunity for a construction project (where in the construction sector).
Business Tendering process
those terms are used to designate the full business process including the commercial
opportunity identification phase, decision making, eventual partner identification, bid
preparation, etc.
Collaborative Partner
a single person or a single business acting in a SPP group through the SupplyPoint
system, belonging to a SPP Client entity.
Colleague
an employee of the Company which is not yet a registered User.
Company
a legal entity registered with the SupplyPoint system.
Construction Project
a construction project, which is not yet a construction site.
Construction Site
when the construction project has been awarded and the contract(s) already exists.
External User
any actual person attempting to use the services dedicated to external organisations
at the SupplyPoint Web site - which is NOT a registered User belonging to a Company
registered with the SupplyPoint system - (re the technical definition for user).
External Organisation
an organisation, which is NOT a Company, registered with the SupplyPoint system - (re
the technical definition for user).
Foreign Company
a company which has not yet registered with SupplyPoint.
Foreign Partner
a partner of a Company (registered with SupplyPoint), which is not yet registered with
the SupplyPoint system.
Group
one or more Users with the same set of permissions, hence authority and
responsibility, within a given room or organisation.
Legal Entity
an individual or a company (re an enterprise that has a physical presence and wishes
to use the SupplyPoint system).
Partner
any business partner in the perspective of the real world user.
Presence
an instance of a SPP User within a given room (re: an instance of a User within a
given room).
(Project Partner
is reserved for the SupplyPoint project partners).
Publish Authority Role
SPP User who has permissions to release documentation to public areas for an
organisation/VE (re: User who has permissions to release documentation to public areas
for an organisation/VE).
Real World User
any single business (set up as an individual, a company, or a group).
Role
a pre-defined set of permissions, hence authority and responsibility, within a given
room or organisation.
Room
a conceptual workspace in which documents and facilities are available to the
authorised users.
Sector-related business (filière)
business development and opportunities at large.
Session
an instance of a SPP User from one of the groups on the system (re: an instance of a

SPP Client
a prospective real world user which is supposed to be a regular client of the
SupplyPoint system.
SysAdmin
Extended SPP user who has server/database side permissions for system maintenance

Team
a group of at least two Users acting through the Supplypoint system (re: the technical
definition for Group - one or more users with the same set of permissions, hence
authority and responsibility, within a given room or organisation).
Third party
organisations relevant to the different businesses in the construction sector.
User
any actual person attempting to log in to or use the SupplyPoint system belonging to a
Company registered with the SupplyPoint system (re: the technical definition for
user).
